BREAKING: Epstein survivor slams “circus act” Pam Bondi for dehumanizing the victims in a fiery takedown.
It was supposed to be a moment of accountability. Instead, according to Epstein survivor Marina Lacerda, it became a moment of humiliation.
Speaking after Attorney General Pam Bondi’s combative congressional testimony today, Lacerda described what it felt like to stand in the room — alongside other survivors — and watch the nation’s top law enforcement official refuse to apologize.
“We all stood up,” Lacerda said. “A lot of the survivors cried. We almost felt embarrassed that we even stood up, and she couldn’t turn around and apologize to us.”
Embarrassed. Let that word sit with you.
These are survivors of one of the most notorious sex trafficking operations in modern history. They were invited into the hearing room. They were asked to stand so lawmakers — and the country — could see them. And when given the opportunity to offer a simple human acknowledgment, Bondi declined.
No apology.
No eye contact.
No recognition.
“I think she really dehumanized us today,” Lacerda said.
Instead of engaging directly with the survivors, Bondi sparred with members of Congress, accused lawmakers of “theatrics,” and dismissed criticism of the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein files. The hearing devolved into shouting matches.
Meanwhile, survivors were left standing.
Lacerda didn’t mince words about how the spectacle felt from their seats. “Right now, I think the whole room is pretty much laughing at her,” she said. “She has become a circus act at this point.”
That’s not the reaction of a partisan operative. It’s the voice of someone who expected dignity — and didn’t get it. Survivors weren’t asking for politics. They weren’t asking for spin. They were asking for acknowledgment.
When the Attorney General of the United States won’t even turn around and face them, it sends a message — and it’s not one about justice. It’s one about power.
And today, survivors say, that power was used to ignore them.
